HAPKIDO MAIN DOJANG

Hapkido is a dynamic Korean martial art that combines striking, kicking, joint locking, throwing, and weapon techniques, making it a comprehensive self-defense system. At EuljiKwan Singapore, our regular classes follow the structured curriculum of the Korea Hapkido Federation, ensuring an authentic and progressive learning experience for beginners and advancing students alike. We cater to all skill levels and age groups, offering age and belt level appropriate training.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

Each 1.5-hour training session at EuljiKwan Singapore follows a structured format based on the Korea Hapkido Federation (KHF) syllabus, ensuring a balanced and progressive learning experience. Here’s what you can expect in a typical class:

Warm-Up (10 minutes):
Begin with light cardio and stretching to prepare your body for training, enhancing flexibility and reducing injury risk.

Danjon Breathing Techniques (5 minutes):
Hapkido breathing exercises to center your mind, improve focus, and boost energy flow—key for mental clarity and physical performance.

Rolling and Breakfall (15 minutes):
Learn to roll, tumble, and fall safely, building confidence in movement and reducing the risk of injury during play or self-defense scenarios.

Hand Strikes and Kicks (15 minutes):
Master fundamental strikes and kicks, developing precision, power, and coordination, with techniques adapted for different age groups (e.g., basic kicks for kids, advanced strikes for teens).

Self-Defense Techniques & Drills (35 minutes):
Practice joint locks and throws, learning to redirect an opponent’s force—a core Hapkido principle that teaches strategy and control, tailored to each student’s skill level. Engage in scenario-based training, such as escaping a grip, defending against a collar grab, or handling a hair pull, preparing you for real-life situations with age-appropriate challenges.

Briefing, Feedback, and Reinforce Values (10 minutes):
End with a group discussion where instructors provide feedback, reinforce martial arts values like respect and perseverance, and motivate you to improve in the next session.

Our classes are led by KHF certified instructors who act as motivators, creating a supportive and fun environment where students leave each session feeling stronger and more confident.
